Welcome to our events page, here we keep you informed of events which our wine industry is involved in. The long term aim is to showcase our Wine Industry along with Great Southern Food and associated Great Southern enterprises thus making the region a more exciting place to visit at all times of the Year.

"Great Southern Wine and Food Festival 2010"

Date: 16-18 April 2010
Venue: The Grassy Knoll, York St, Albany.

 

 Join the celebration of Great Southern wine and food at the major Tasting in the Tent event on Sunday 18 April. Over 25 wonderful Great Southern wineries supported by stylish Great Southern food and world-class entertainment.
This year’s festival begins a partnership between the GSWPA and Harboursound Music Festival which brings international, national and local entertainers into the tent. Musical and wine-related events throughout the weekend make this a great time to be in Albany.

"Tasting in the Tent"

Date: Sunday 18 April 2010
Time: 11am -4pm
Grassy Knoll, York St, Albany

Join the celebration of Great Southern wine and food. 20 wonderful Great Southern wineries supported by stylish Great Southern food and world-class entertainment. This year’s festival begins a partnership between the GSWPA and Harboursound Music Festival which brings international, national and local entertainers into the tent.

Cost: $20 (cash only) includes tasting glass.

"Dark Horses on the Ridge"

Date: Friday 16 April 2010
Time: 12 noon – 3pm
Poacher’s Ridge Winery, 1630 Spencer Road, Narrikup.

A leisurely 5 course luncheon matched to wines from Albany's Oranje Tractor and Mt Barker's Poacher's Ridge wineries.

James Halliday recently awarded both of these up and coming wineries a Dark Horse award identifying them as wineries doing ‘that little bit extra’. Come and find out what that little bit extra is with winemaker Rob Diletti.

“Festival of the Sea”


Date: Easter Saturday – 3 April 2010
Venue: Albany Boat Shed, Princess Royal Drive, Albany


Enjoy fresh seafood, aquaculture products and Great Southern wine plus a wide range nautical entertainment and activities for adults and children. This event, now in its third year, is the main fundraising event for the Albany Maritime Foundation housed in the Albany Boatshed.
