The formal launch of the Shiraz project will take place at the North Road Shopping Centre on Wednesday 31st May at 3pm.
Invited guests include wine producers, sponsors of the project, business leaders, local and state government representatives plus the print and electronic media.
With the unveiling of the project extensive radio & TV coverage is expected and planned for both in the wine media and press (newspapers), radio and TV.
The following weekend (the June long weekend) the Shiraz promotion and the Big bottle will move to the Convention Centre in Perth for the Wine and Food Festival.
It will be on display for 3 days with Campbell Management Services donating the space in the Great Southern section.
Following that the bottle will return to Albany (transport is sponsored by Toll Holdings) for a continuous display at Kim Bullocks North Road Liquor store, where there will be a series of tastings conducted in conjunction with its display.
Then it is off again to Sydney for Wine Australia from the 14th to 17th July, space has been allocated and participating Great Southern Wineries have purchased extra space to accomodate the big Bottle and its capsule display.
Further display opportunities are the various Wine and Food exhibitions held in the major cities such as Melbourne and Brisbane. Whether the promotion goes to one or all of these depends on the level of sponsorship gained from local government and other local business sectors that will benefit from extra visitation from wine tourists in the Great Southern wine region.
A concerntrated effort to take the bottle and the promotion to london for the Australia Day Tasting early next year.
The Great Southern Wine Producers will make the most of this promotion to reinforce the preminance of the region as a top Shiraz producer, makiing way for further promotions to feature our other strengths in the various wine varieties.
GWN will be filming the filling of the bottle next Monday 29th at Plantagenet Wines in Mount Barker.
