West Cape Howe Wines and Cellar Door

It is the quality of the Great Southern region and the combination of skill and artistry between viticulture and winemaking that makes drinking West Cape Howe wines a truly memorable experience.

Located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, West Cape Howe is one of the most southerly points, rising some 250 metres above the Southern Ocean.  It is thought that the first explorers to our coastline were Dutch seafarers in 1627 aboard their ‘Fluyt’ class vessel “Gulden Zeepaard” (Golden Seahorse).

Our winery is named after this magnificent landmark.  The rugged coastline is home to some stunning beaches and great rock climbing sites.

Located only a stone's throw from the picturesque township of Denmark in Western Australia's Great Southern region, you'll discover West Cape Howe.

Surrounded by an undulating back-drop of glorious, lush open farmland, natural bush and expansive views out to Mount Lindesay, the West Cape Howe Wines Cellar Door is literally the “room with the view”.

Floor to ceiling windows lend views to the vineyard and beautiful gardens that are home to many native birds and set the scene for a relaxing and enjoyable Cellar Door experience.

The contemporary rustic mud brick building was constructed in 1999 and offers visitors an unpretentious, friendly and warm atmosphere to sample wines, relax with a cup of coffee, browse through our extensive selection of West Cape Howe merchandise, or to simply sit back and admire the view.

Our walls are constantly adorned with local art and West Cape Howe Wines is the venue for many artist’s “openings’, “Sunday Sessions” and Friday night live music evenings. Visitors are always welcome to catch a glimpse ‘behind the scenes’ - simply contact one of our cellar door staff who can arrange a private tour for your family or group.
